Ductless Air System
This system is also known as a ductless mini-split system. A ductless air system has an outdoor unit and can have up to five wall-mounted air handlers. This system uses a heat pump with two exchanger coils that will help heat your house in the winter. In the summer, the air handlers take the heat out of your home and send it outdoors.
These systems are very energy-efficient and quiet. You can heat your entire home with a ductless air system. They can also be used to heat an extension that your central heating and cooling system can’t reach. Air-Source Heat Pump
An air-source heat pump can both heat and cool your home. It has an outside condensing unit that exchanges heat between outside and inside your home through a compressor. These systems are the most energy-efficient way to heat and cool your home. Unlike the ductless air system, with the air-source heat pump, you only have to maintain one piece of equipment rather than two.
An air-source heat pump uses refrigerant. The refrigerant absorbs heat from the outside air and sends it through your duct to heat your home. In the summer, it does the reverse so your home stays cool. There is also an auxiliary heat source for when outdoor temperatures get very cold.
